I want to give special thanks to my family, and every member of Team Toni V. Finding the words to express my gratitude for your support and belief in my candidacy is difficult; I would never have made it without you. While this is not the outcome for which we worked so hard, I am proud of the positive campaign we ran.
Thank you to every person who supported me in this campaign. Many of you made financial donations, welcomed me into your home for campaign events, offered encouragement, knocked on doors, sent text messages, or put out yard signs. Meet Toni
My name is Toni V. Smith, and I am excited to announce that I am running for Fort Bend County Clerk in the 2022 Primary Democratic Election on March 1, 2022. After prayer, deep consideration, and support from family and friends, I have decided that now is the time to put my personal and professional skills to work as a servant for the people of Fort Bend County. I am confident I possess the integrity, experience, accountability, and commitment to lead as the ideal candidate representing the Democratic ticket as Fort Bend County Clerk.
As County Clerk, my commitment to ethics and effective compliance is paramount. I will hold myself accountable for the duties and responsibilities of the office and to the community. My goal as County Clerk is to provide high ethical standards and exceptional customer service to the public with respect, courtesy, transparency, and professionalism. I will be fair, impartial, compassionate, and consistent. Additionally, I am committed to achieving excellence and improving government services through new technology designed to facilitate enhanced accessibility.
Top Priorities Include:
- Election integrity to ensure fairness, transparency, inclusiveness, equity, and integrity across all voting activities.
- Conduct process improvement and effective analysis to deliver more efficient and relevant services and resources to the citizens of Fort Bend County.
- Reduce wait times by providing express pick-up for online requests and new office locations to meet the expansion of our county.
- Improve access and efficiency on the website and incorporate kiosks to assist attorneys and pro se litigants with standard filings.
- Provide priority service to disabled veterans and senior citizens.
Professional Experience
Toni’s notable experience as an organizational leader and successful entrepreneur with over 37 years of excellent business practices includes managing business operations, project and fiscal management, human resources, business transformation, and implementing strategic initiatives. These areas have helped Toni provide quality leadership in many facets of business operations. Equally noted, Toni is a lifelong learner and a product of the Houston Independent School District, where she graduated from Mirabeau B. Lamar High School.
